The men's UGG styles we carry in our boutique come in five types: the Classic Ultra Mini ankle boot in sheepskin, Tasman slippers, Neumel ankle boots, Shep and Ascot moccasins, and Lowmel and Minimel sneakers. They do not all fit the same way, and the sizing rule for Ultra Mini and Tasman is even opposite: you will find it below, taken from our UGG size guide.
Classic Ultra Mini: the sheepskin ankle boot
This is the UGG boot with the lowest shaft: it slips on hands-free and is barely visible under straight-leg trousers. We carry it in chestnut, the brown shade the brand is known for, and in black, the easiest to style with dark denim and a coat. The upper is made from 17 mm Twinface sheepskin, with an UGGplush insole; at the back there is a suede heel counter and pull tab. Women's versions, including the platform style, are in UGG Ultra Mini.
Tasman and the other men's slippers
The Tasman II is the UGG slipper you can also wear outdoors: a suede clog with an embroidered braid around the vamp, a sheepskin lining and an UGGpure wool insole that absorbs moisture and allows you to wear it without socks. For a man, it is the Saturday-morning shoe, worn with a thick sock. Alongside it are the Tasman Slip On, with double lacing and a sheepskin lining, and the Tasman Lug, designed for year-round wear, with an UGGplush insole and interchangeable Twinsole insoles.
The Classic Micro is the lower version of the Classic, lined with sheepskin, halfway between a slipper and an ankle boot. Tasman Baxter and Tasman Crafted Regenerate are unisex. All the brand's slippers, including women's styles, are in UGG slides and slippers; Tasman styles alone have their own page, UGG Tasman.
Shep, Shep Penny and Ascot: slippers that look like shoes
The warmth of a slipper with the look of a moccasin. The Shep is made from suede, in chestnut or dusted cocoa; the Shep Penny is made from leather, with the vamp of a penny loafer, in chestnut and black. Both have 17 mm UGGplush lining, made from 60% upcycled wool and 40% TENCEL lyocell, a sheepskin insole and a sugarcane EVA outsole. The Ascot is made from full-grain leather with UGGplush lining and an outsole designed for outdoor wear: it is the most structured of the three.

Neumel and Loften: made for the city
The Neumel is the UGG ankle boot closest to a city shoe. There is the suede chukka with cotton laces and the chelsea, with double elastic panels and pull tabs at the front and back, in chestnut and black: under chinos it looks like any Chelsea boot, while inside it has 17 mm UGGplush lining and insole. The Neumel Crafted Regenerate, on the other hand, is made from Twinface sheepskin sourced from regenerative agriculture farms.
The Loften is an oiled full-grain leather chukka, with UGGplush lining and a rubber outsole: it is the most office-appropriate model on the page. For boots and ankle boots from other brands, see the men's ankle boots.
Lowmel and Minimel: the sneakers
The men's Lowmel combines suede and recycled nylon, with a padded collar and tongue and 10 mm UGGplush lining; a second pair of laces is included in the box. The Minimel has a lower profile and double lacing. They fit like any regular sneaker; the story behind the model is in our Lowmel review.
Which size to choose
Our guide gives a rule for each model, and the difference between an ankle boot and a slipper is what leads to the most returns:

Men's UGG shoes use their own US scale: EU 40 is a men's US 7, 41 is US 8, 42 is US 9, 43 is US 10, 44 is US 11, and 45 is US 12. UGG's women's-to-men's conversion is two US sizes: women's US 9 corresponds to men's US 7, which is the same as EU 40. Half sizes exist only in part of the men's range.
Sheepskin, UGGplush, UGGpure. The product pages mention three different materials, and they are not the same thing. Sheepskin is sheepskin leather with its fleece: it appears on the Ultra Mini upper and on the Shep insole. UGGplush is a fabric made from upcycled wool and lyocell. UGGpure is the wool used in the Tasman insole. If genuine sheepskin inside and out matters to you, the Ultra Mini is the model to look at.
Rain, cleaning and the rest of UGG
None of the men's models we carry is declared waterproof. Some Ultra Mini styles have a water-repellent treatment, which helps with a few drops but not puddles: if your winter means rain, look at Timberland for men. Suede and sheepskin should be cleaned by hand, with a brush and cold water only on the surface: the steps are in the guide on how to clean UGG.

Frequently asked questions
Do men's UGG styles run large or small?
It depends on the model. The Classic Ultra Mini loosens with wear: choose your usual size and, between two sizes, the smaller. Tasman gives little: choose your usual size and, between two sizes, the larger. Lowmel fits like a sneaker. For Neumel, Shep and Ascot, write to us before ordering.
What is the difference between men's and women's UGG sizing?
The European size is the same; the US size changes: with UGG, the men's US size is two sizes below the women's US size. EU 40 is a women's US 9 and a men's US 7, so someone who wears a women's EU 40 can choose EU 40 in a men's or unisex model.
Can men's UGG slippers be worn outdoors?
Yes. Tasman II, Tasman Slip On, Tasman Lug, Shep and Ascot have outsoles designed for outdoor wear too. They are still suede or leather shoes with warm lining: they are not suitable for heavy rain.
Are men's UGG styles waterproof?
None of the models we carry is declared waterproof. Some Classic Ultra Mini styles have a water-repellent treatment that protects the surface, but they do not have waterproof construction.
Are men's UGG styles made from genuine sheepskin?
It depends on the model. The Classic Ultra Mini has a sheepskin upper, the Tasman II has a sheepskin lining, and Shep and Shep Penny have sheepskin insoles.
